Phnom Penh, December 22, 2024: More than 3,000 volunteer artists and youth from the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC) gathered in Sangkat Khmuenh, Khan Sen Sok, Phnom Penh, for the second parade rehearsal in preparation for the Celebrating Cambodia ceremony, set to take place on December 31 in front of the Royal Palace.

In addition, the UYFC will organize a final rehearsal parade on December 27, 2024, at 1 p.m., allowing all citizens to participate freely to ensure the “Celebrating Cambodia” event proceeds smoothly as planned.

To ensure the “Celebrating Cambodia” event runs seamlessly while maintaining security, safety, and public order, a trial march will be held on December 27, 2024. This trial will take place on Sisowath Avenue, starting from the corner of Phatthi Chamkorn Street to Chaktomuk Theater, from 1:00 p.m. until the end of the program.

On December 31, the main parade will occur along Sisowath Avenue and Oknha Chhun Avenue, beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until the program concludes. The route will stretch from the corner of Phatthi Chamkorn Street to Chaktomuk Theater and from the traffic light at Chaktomuk Theater to the corner of Samdech Sothearos Boulevard.

Mr. Sok Soana, a member of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cambodia (CPC) and a member of the organizing committee for the “Celebrating Cambodia” event, confirmed that the parade will feature 200 giant bassac dancers, 85 tingmoung chaiyams, 3-ton drums, and a convoy of parade vehicles.

Additionally, the event will include a parade and flag-raising ceremony, a variety show featuring 57 renowned singers and 625 performers, alongside a decorated venue filled with attractions, culminating in a New Year’s Eve program and various entertainment activities.

The parade aims to convey the significance of the “Celebrating Cambodia” event, celebrating a vibrant society and showcasing the nation’s unique identity and pride.

The “Celebrating Cambodia” event is designed to foster connections among all citizens, symbolizing Cambodia's long history and its proud, hopeful stance as it looks toward a glorious future together.
